RiverCity Flats is located at 1919 Forbes Avenue in the Uptown section of Pittsburgh and borders
Downtown to the east, Oakland to the west and easily gazes across the river to the South Side. It is
within a few miles of the Strip District and Polish Hill. Dating back to about the 1930s, the complex
has been completely refurbished and renovated into 12 residential lofts and 2 commercial spaces.
Plans are underway to convert one of the commercial spaces into a trendy coffee shop (aka: RiverCity Java –
Opening Spring 2009) that would serve the residents of RiverCity Flats and the surrounding neighborhood.
RiverCity Flats is within just a few miles of anything and everything, including trendy restaurants, cafes,
nightclubs, universities, and a wide range of commercial services. Pittsburgh’s theatre districts, sports stadiums,
public library, and Point State Park are all within a 5-minute drive. Also nearby, are Mercy Hospital, located just a
few blocks walk toward town, and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, in the opposite direction, which offer
excellent health care to the city and surrounding neighborhoods.
According to the City of Pittsburgh
web site, the Uptown section, along with the Hill
District, is home to over 17,000 people who walk, drive or ride the bus to
Downtown or Oakland. The residents range from long time residents, university
students, health professionals, and Downtown workers who like the convenience
of the neighborhood. |
